Conferring of Degrees

Students who qualify in December will have their degrees conferred at the April series of graduations and a graduation invitation will be mailed to them in late January.  Students who qualify in July will have their degrees conferred in September and a graduation invitation will be mailed to them in August.

2010 APRil Graduation Series

Students not qualified (ie have an award recorded at MY RESULTS in eStudent) on 22 December 2009 who wish to be included in the April 2010 graduation series must contact the Academic Program Section before 5 February 2010.  Failure to confirm your graduation eligibility by 5 February 2010 may result in the delay of your graduation until September 2010.

If you are qualified to graduate in April 2010 but do not receive your graduation invitation with your Conferring of Degrees Form by 8 February, contact the Graduation Unit on 9850 7354 or email graduation@mq.edu.au before the closing date of 19 February 2010.

Note:   Students graduating with a postgraduate or undergraduate certificate, study abroad diploma or certificate will not attend a graduation ceremony.  Your graduation documents will be mailed to you as soon as possible after the graduation series has concluded.

Change of Name
You must submit certified photocopies of official documentation with the desired name on it to the Student Enquiry Service, either in person or by post.  Documents accepted include passports and birth, marriage or change of name certificates from the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages.  Documents cannot be faxed or emailed to the Student Enquiry Service.

A change of Personal Information Form (PDF 28KB) must be completed at Student Enquiry Service and the change will be effected within 48 hours of receipt.

If you are unable to lodge the form in person to Student Enquiry Service, a letter requesting the name change accompanied by certified documents can be posted to the Student Enquiry Service.  Faxed requests will not be accepted.  Please post to Student Enquiry Service.
